OREM, Utah – Utah Valley University (UVU) successfully hosted the 2026 Data Summit on February 25-26, bringing together professionals, educators, students, and industry leaders for two days of powerful conversations, forward-thinking presentations, and meaningful networking.
Centered on this year’s theme, Better Questions, Better Data, Better Decisions, the summit highlighted how curiosity and critical thinking drive smarter strategies and greater impact in today’s data-informed world. Attendees explored how asking the right questions leads to stronger analysis, clearer insights, and more effective decision-making across industries.
The event featured keynote presentations from Mike Kelly, Ph.D., CEO and principal advisor of Cronin Data Advisors, and Rene Eborn, chief information officer at Weber State University. Both speakers shared expert perspectives on data leadership, governance, innovation, and the evolving role of analytics in higher education and business. Their insights reinforced the importance of aligning data strategy with the organizational mission and long-term vision.
Throughout the two-day summit, participants engaged in interactive sessions designed to serve individuals at every stage of their data journey, from beginners building foundational skills to experienced leaders shaping enterprise-wide data strategy. Presentations and discussions addressed emerging trends in data analytics, responsible data use, and the growing need for cross-functional collaboration.
