Utah Valley University’s Fast Track 1-2-3 To Help Students Accelerate Their Education and Enter the Workforce Sooner

Utah Valley University (UVU) is excited to announce Fast Track 1-2-3, an initiative designed to empower students to accelerate their education, reduce costs, and achieve academic and career goals faster than ever before. Fast Track 1-2-3 is designed for high school students, working professionals, returning students, and anyone eager to enter the workforce with valuable, marketable skills.

“At UVU, we are committed to providing students with meaningful, efficient educational pathways into the workforce. We know that every student is unique. The Fast Track 1-2-3 program allows crucial workforce needs to be met quickly by students who are motivated and driven to complete these industry-ready credentials at an accelerated pace,” said Senior Director of Workforce Alignment Wendy Simmerman.

Fast Track 1-2-3 provides clear, flexible, and efficient pathways that allow students to complete workforce-ready degrees in one, two, or three years. By leveraging strategic partnerships across the state (including Utah’s technical colleges, high school concurrent enrollment, UVU’s credit for prior learning program, and UVU Online), students can customize a streamlined educational path that fits their goals, schedules, and learning preferences.

Students participating in Fast Track 1-2-3 can:

  • Earn degrees faster through accelerated and flexible course offerings
  • Reduce educational costs by leveraging concurrent enrollment and prior learning credits
  • Build career-ready skills with hands-on experience and industry-aligned curriculum
  • Create a personalized pathway that fits their unique goals and life circumstances

“UVU is recognized as a leader in providing innovative, personalized educational pathways that lead to in-demand jobs supporting our local communities,” said Wayne Vaught, UVU provost and senior vice president of Academic Affairs. “Over the last several years, we have invested in strengthening pathways from K-12 to higher education and making the transfer process from tech college to university more streamlined and efficient. Fast Track 1-2-3 leverages opportunities that students have available through high school concurrent enrollment, tech colleges, and employer partnerships to obtain workforce-ready degrees quickly.”

Some of UVU’s one-year fast tracks include Associate in Applied Science programs in diesel technology, automotive technology, and emergency services operations. Two-year fast tracks include a Bachelor of Applied Science in transportation technology. Three-year fast tracks include, but are not limited to, a Bachelor of Science in nursing and a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. To explore pathways and learn more, visit  uvu.edu/pathways/fast-track.
