Ballet West’s 60th Anniversary Kicks Off with Sold-Out Run of Dracula

Best-Selling Non-Nutcracker in Company History

Ballet West’s 60th anniversary season kicked off with nearly 13,000 attendees during Dracula, its first production of the season. The record-breaking sales is a company high for non-Nutcracker performances.

Utahns are clearly loving ballet. As one of the top 10 ballet companies in the country, Ballet West has grown its subscriber base by 15% in the last year, contributing to three years in a row of subscriber-base growth by at least 10%.

“Long noted as one of Utah’s cultural treasures, Ballet West has become one of America’s most highly regarded ballet companies. With artistry that rivals that of other national and international companies, Ballet West’s role is that of a cultural ambassador, bringing programs by leading choreographers to audiences worldwide,” said Ballet West Executive Director Michael Scolamiero.

The 60th celebration continues with Firebird, a performance of three ballets sharing the scope and vison of founder Willam Christensen. Performances will run from Nov. 3 – 11 at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre. Tickets start at just $30. Visit balletwest.org for ticket information.
