Why should people visit The Leonardo?

The Leonardo Museum offers something for everyone, with exhibits and activities designed to engage all ages, from kids to adults. We host adult-focused lectures, monthly events and screenings to keep visitors of all interests intrigued and inspired. Whether exploring a new exhibit or attending a scheduled program, there’s always something fresh to discover. As a parent, I love bringing my kids to experience hands-on activities and I enjoy attending events and lectures with my wife. The Leonardo is a place where there’s always something new, making it a perfect destination for families and individuals alike.

What’s the biggest challenge that comes with being a nonprofit?

The biggest challenge for The Leonardo is securing the resources needed to keep a facility like this open and accessible to the public. As a nonprofit, success isn’t just about having a great business plan — it’s about building strong partnerships with sponsors, individual donors and the public through ticket sales. We want everyone to understand the vision of what The Leonardo is today and what it can become in the future. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, brings us one step closer to achieving our goals and creating something truly remarkable.

What’s the best opportunity that comes with being a nonprofit?

One of the greatest opportunities we’ve recognized is our role as a cultural hub for Salt Lake City. We serve as an educational resource for schools, educators and the general public. We truly believe in the power of partnership and value the close relationships we’ve built with so many incredible organizations and individuals. By working together, we strive to make The Leonardo a vibrant and comprehensive space that enriches our community.

What’s one thing you wish customers knew more about when it comes to The Leonardo?

We wish more people knew that The Leonardo is truly for everyone. While we’re well-known in certain circles, many still think of us solely as a children’s museum. In reality, we offer a wide range of intellectually stimulating and enjoyable experiences for adults as well. The Leonardo isn’t just for families — it’s also a fantastic spot for date nights, students seeking to dive deeper into their studies and anyone looking for something engaging and thought-provoking. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, making it a place that’s always worth a visit.
