Brighton, UT – Aug. 15, 2023 – Big-D Signature, along with Brighton Resort and Bluebird Day Architecture, is excited to announce the construction of Sidewinder Grill, a mid-mountain rest area for skiers and snowboarders.
A unique addition to Brighton Resort, this mid-mountain lodge is a single story 4,618 square-foot hybrid structure that includes three repurposed shipping containers; one container serves as a pre-constructed restroom pod while the other two containers combine to one large kitchen as a commercial counter style restaurant. On each side of the container module, two dining halls framed with heavy timber and steel will accommodate 180 hungry outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, the exterior seating areas will provide 7,600 square feet of outdoor seating occupancy on a heated concrete terrace for outdoor dining and relaxation experiences.
“We are thrilled about this project because we are always looking for ways to give our skiers and snowboarders the best experience when they are at Brighton,” said Mike Doyle of Brighton Resort. “Sidewinder Grill will offer a beautiful setting with greater accessibility to food, restrooms and amenities for all of our guests across both the winter and summer seasons on the mountain.”
Currently, the only lodge at Brighton Resort is at the bottom of the mountain, and skiers and snowboarders must ride all the way down to utilize facilities. Sidewinder Grill will be located right above the Snake Creek ski lift, and where the Sunshine and Pioneer runs meet, giving patrons additional on-mountain options.
“Big-D signature is excited to work with Brighton Resort and Bluebird Day Architecture. We are extremely proud to be part of a project that will better serve our ski and snowboard community, and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world who visit Utah for the greatest snow on earth,” said Chris Grzybowski, Project Director for Big-D Signature in Park City, Utah.
Construction on Sidewinder Grill is slated to be finished for the 2023 – 2024 winter season.
