Just over a year ago, leaders in Utah’s science and healthcare innovation sector formed BioHive, a branding initiative that showcases Utah’s crucial medical contributions. With over 1,300 member companies and growing, BioHive’s Executive Director Katelin Roberts is here to tell us more.

Utah has one of the fastest growing life science and healthcare innovation communities in the country. This includes medical devices, diagnostics, therapeutics, digital health, laboratory services and a huge halo effect of manufacturing service providers and others who support the industry. The impact is stunning – today our member companies provide nearly 10 percent of Utah’s economy.
BioHive was launched just over a year ago to help tell the story and help attract more investment to Utah. We have entrepreneurs and businesses within the state working tirelessly to save patient lives, pushing us to new frontiers in healthcare, all-the-while working to find new ways to improve patient care, and reduce costs, which is an absolute necessity.
