This is Derek Miller Speaking on Business. Utah is the youngest state in the nation with over half of our population under the age of 35. Helping businesses create family friendly environments is a priority for Nic Dunn who leads Utah Community Builders, a 501(c)(3) charitable institution. Here’s Nic with more.

NIC DUNN

Working parents deserve the ability to balance their employment and taking care of their kids in a way that meets their family’s needs and preferences. Our new statewide initiative, Family Friendly Work, uses high-quality data and best practices to equip businesses with information to be more family friendly in recruitment, retention and management.

We believe that businesses and parents need a wide variety of options to choose solutions that work best for THEM and that anything our community does to help should be targeted and informed by good data.

We’re listening directly to Utah’s working parents to bring insights and actionable information to  employers, providing the tools and information they need to help their employees be successful at work AND at home.

By promoting the principles that foster a family friendly workplace, we can strengthen Utah as the best place in the nation to work AND raise a family.
