WBCUtah will be honored during National Small Business Week in Washington, D.C.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (March 20, 2025) – Ahead of National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced this year’s SBA specialty award winners. The Women’s Business Center of Utah (WBCUtah) was selected as the winner of the Women’s Business Center of Excellence Award for 2025. This award is part of the SBA Resource Partner Awards, which recognizes SBA-funded training and assistance partners for their impact on local economic growth, job creation and entrepreneurial support.
“Receiving the Women’s Business Center of Excellence Award is an incredible honor,” says Ann Marie Wallace, State Director of WBCUtah. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our team and the remarkable women we serve. It’s inspiring to be part of their entrepreneurial journeys — witnessing their success, resilience and impact on their families, communities and the state. Being part of that transformation fuels our passion every day.”
Selected from over 150 Women’s Business Centers nationwide, WBCUtah will be joining the SBA in celebrating National Small Business Week and receiving their award at a ceremony held in Washington, D.C., May 4-5, 2025. In addition to the specialty award winners, 53 small business winners will be honored with an individual award recognizing their achievements. There will also be special recognition of the runner-up and the naming of the 2025 National Small Business Person of the Year.
“The Salt Lake Chamber is deeply committed to the success of the Women’s Business Center of Utah,” says Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber. “We thank the SBA for recognizing the commitment and progress of the impressive women involved in this program, and look forward to their continued contributions not only to our economy, but also to our communities.”
SBA also will co-host a free, two-day national virtual summit featuring educational business workshops and networking on May 6-7, 2025. Additionally, SBA’s ten regions and 68 field offices will hold area recognition and educational seminars throughout the week.
