Wolverines Elevated Program Prepares to Celebrate First-Ever Graduation

 Wolverines Elevated (WE), a fully inclusive college program for students with intellectual disabilities at Utah Valley University (UVU), will be celebrating the graduation of its first cohort on May 3 at 8 am at the UCCU Center on UVU’s Orem Campus. There will be a celebration on May 1 for the family and friends of the graduates.

First-generation college graduate, former CEO of a L’Oréal brand, and New York Times bestselling author Jamie Kern Lima will speak at Utah Valley University’s (UVU) 2024 commencement ceremony to celebrate the transformative power of education with 10,197 graduates — 3,406 of whom are first-generation students. The ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 2, at 6:30 pm in the UCCU Center on UVU’s Orem Campus.

Rocky Mountain University Welcomes Dr. Michael Nelson to the Board of Trustees

As Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions (RMU) continues to lead innovation and excellence in health education and practice, it has announced the appointment of Michael Nelson, DHSc, DMSc, MPAs, PA-C to the RMU Board of Trustees.  A visionary in healthcare, Nelson’s career has included serving as the Program Director of the Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program and the Dean of the College of Medical Science at RMU. Currently, he is a clinically practicing Physician Assistant specializing in sports medicine.

Red Cross honors health care team during Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

The American Red Cross of Utah recognizes local scientists, technicians and medical professionals during the 49th annual Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, held from April 14-20. This dedicated team of health care workers meticulously collects and tests donated blood, ensuring the well-being of the community and patients in need of lifesaving blood transfusions or treatments.
