Derek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber and Downtown Alliance, issued the following statement regarding Governor Spencer J. Cox’s fiscal year 2025 budget proposal:

Governor Cox’s fiscal plan for the upcoming year showcases a thoughtful and proactive approach to address some of our state’s biggest challenges and continue to bolster our economic landscape.

We are encouraged by the proposed allocations toward providing more affordable housing, prioritizing investments in water conservation efforts, supporting enhancements to our transportation infrastructure and alleviating homelessness through a comprehensive approach. We applaud the forward-thinking investments outlined in the Governor’s budget and appreciate the opportunities for businesses to thrive and contribute meaningfully to our state’s economic success.
